"The city of water" is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Venice is an interesting mix of old and new, it is composed by 118 islets on the stretch of the lagoon of Venice. Situated right on the Adriatic Sea the city is on very low land and in the past used to be prone to floods. A lot of reformation and reorganization has been place in Venice in order to overcome the flooding problem. Famous as a romantic gateway Venice attracts millions of tourist and honeymooners every year. Venice is the capital of Veneto one of the richest regions in Italy.

  • The Grand Canal (Canalazzo): one of Venice's main waterway the grand canal is the heart of Venice and place of a lot of activity. Along the canal there are elegant palazzos, and beautiful building form the Renaissance era. You can take a Gondola cross the canal or walk along the attractions.
  • Bell Tower (Campanile di San Marco): built in the 9th century the Bell tower has 97 metres and is the highest structure in Venice, from the top it is possible to have a splendid view of the city. The tower is located in the Piazza San Marco.
  • Basilica dei Frari: one of Venice's most beautiful basilicas is a beautiful church constructed in the 14th century representing the Gothic style. Inside the church is possible to view works from famous Italian artists including Giovanni Bellini's triptych of the Madonna and Saints and Donatello's St John the Baptist
Airport Info

Receiving over six million passengers every year Venice airport is one of the busiest airports in Italy. A recently built high-tech building was incorporated to the airport and now has three floors and over 60 airlines with worldwide destinations.

The airport is located around 8 km north of Venice city centre.

The facilities include a different range of shops, duty-free stores. The airport also comprehends banks, bureau de change, ATM cash points and a post office. There are different types of restaurants, bars and several cafes.

It is fairly easy to reach the airport by car. The airport is situated just off Campalto motorway. There are short and long-term parking available at the airport.
