Barcelona is an upbeat, diverse and sophisticate city situated in the west part of Spain. It is the capital of the autonomous region of Catalonia. Hosting a lot of museums, cinemas, theatres, art venues, churches and beautiful open green spaces Barcelona has a lot to offer. In the countryside, from a walking distance there are amazing landscapes where sailing, canoeing and cycling are available. Barcelona has a Mediterranean climate with summers lasting up to 6 months, winter temperatures are around 14.5 °C the average temperature during the summer is of around 28 °C.

  • La Sagrada Familia: one of the most famous churches in the world is a masterpiece created by the geniality of architect Antonio Gaudi. The church is still incomplete and has been through a process of restoration and completion that is due to finish in 2026. There is a museum dedicated to the history of the construction of the church in the crypt below the Sagrada Familia.
  • Castell de Montjuïic: a military fortress built in the 17th century Castell de Montjuïic offers incredible shows with lights and music. While there you can take a stroll uphill to glimpse over the beautiful views of the city.
  • La Roca Village: a shopping centre that comprises over 100 designers discount outlets La Roca Bargain welcomes thousands of tourists every year who hope to grab a bargain at the discount outlets. La Roca village is only half an hour from the city centre and it is possible to catch a bus straight from the city centre.

Located 10km southwest of the city centre Barcelona airport is the second largest in Spain and receives more than thirty million passengers every year. The airport is hub for Rynair, Spainair, Airnostrum and Vueling.

There are no direct underground lines or trains to Barcelona airport.

By Car
The airport is situated southwest of the city centre. You can take the Autovia C-246 to or from the airport that will lead you to the city centre. The average time for the journey is 20 minutes depending on traffic.
